If it was a legit question than it's hysterical. So you think we made a trade on the last day to add a player to the postseason roster, and we made this trade not knowing who the guy was before said deadline, and now we can't use this mystery man. I guess we will find out today that Jim Edmonds was named a day too late and can't be added.

All you have to do is have the PTBNL take the place of an injured player and then they're eligible.

Now I'm hearing that it might be Isringhausen.

That is just ridiculous. Pujols cleared waivers, it's common knowledge.

In most cases a PTBNL ends up being junk, but players like Jeremy Bonderman and David Ortiz have both been PTBNL, so in some cases it does work out.

Whoever it is, they most likely wouldn't have an impact this season, but stranger things have happened...
