Impressive series.
Helluva start by Nola.
Just when you're ready to count him out, he pitches like this.

Grear job by Nola, but Kimbrel is cooked for the season
Cannot pitch in high leverage the rest of the way

And who will close and GET US to the closer?
Yeah, we'll live and die by Kimbrel in October. But also by every other hitter and pitcher.

Marlins win, Cubs win.
Brewers beating the already-dead Padres.
Preller & Melvin are toast the day after the season.

Nats have a better record than the Padres, Cards, & Mets. As we all expected.....

It's interesting, though, looking at that team and trying to figure out the foundational pieces beyond Keibert Ruiz. Abrams has good power & speed for a shortstop, but .299 OBP is harrowing. Lane Thomas doesn't excite me as anything beyond a 6/7 hitter on a good team.
Gray and Gore are good rotation pieces.
I think they should have held onto Candelario and resigned him (which they could still do). ... They got some interesting prospects for him.
Overall, I guess there's some danger for regression for them next year. The next step for them would be passing Marlins in standings.
