Howie just needs to NOT reach. Think about it, almost every draft nightmare on this team is when they pick someone and we all say "who the fuck is that and why are we drafting him in the 1st round, that dude is a 3rd rounder"
It's a myth that we got great value. We got an extra 3rd this year and a 2nd in 2 years. What is that 2 worth in today's dollars? A 3rd or a 4th?

Did you perhaps forget another 1 next year? Depending on the Saints record...if they draft a rookie QB? .500% at best?

No I didn't forget and Winston will be their QB and outside of the Bucs, that division sucks, so they will be .500 at worst

Ha! no I didn't forget the first next year. There's a reason we got additional picks, because a pick this year is worth more than an undetermined pick next year. The Saints improve their club this year and Eagles don't. If they wanted to trade 15 for a 1st next year, there would be 30 clubs ready to do it.

For me with the talent in this draft, I would have preferred to keep the picks...but knowing that Howie got such great value does ease the blow

Another thing to consider when possibly trading with the Panthers, they DONT have a 2nd or 3rd round pick this year, so they have #6 and then dont pick again till pick 108.

i thought i read somewhere that most teams have only 15 first round grades on players.

I know that I have heard from multiple talking heads that this is a weak draft and that next year will be better. Thus a #16 next year may be a lot better player

The Saints trade only backfires if they make the playoffs and win a game or two. Hopefully as others have referenced with Winston, they struggle

Of all the edge rushers on the board, KT is my favorite. I don't know that he'll be light's out - but there are huge question marks among all of the top-5 at that position. He's simply been the most consistent. Would I trade up for him if he slides to #6 or so? I doubt it. The only way I make a move using up so much draft capital is for a QB who looks like a can't miss. This team has quite a few holes to fill. If anything, I can see Howie trading back to somebody like Pitt (who might want to leapfrog NO to get a QB) or GB (who might want to get a legitimate WR so Rodgers has somebody to throw to). I like what the Birds have available at both 15 & 18, but the drop-off there to the low-20s is pretty much a wash. Howie makes a move back to add something to next year's draft is in play, no doubt.
