Zero walks and only 4 hits for the Phillies tonight.
They're very lucky 3 of those 4 hits are home runs.
This offense needs to be KO'ing mediocre and bad teams, and mediocre and bad pitching.
Even on this winning streak, too many games have required the top relievers to finish out nailbiters.

Easy peasy.

1 game behind GIants for the #3 wild card. And Giants are losing, so it could be 1/2 game.

Sadly, the Giants just keep winning as do the Marlins, Reds.

Great job by Walker which also gave the key relievers a night off

C(h)ristopher - you better pitch well today

Wow. Walker has gotten healthy and become a damn inning eating beast. Dombrowski looking like the genius he is at mining veteran talent.

Despite the unconventional playing of Pache, he came through for them.

Stott and Bohm could become hitting stars, with Stott looking more and more like Utley and Bohm looks like a better version of Werth. When he's smacking the ball into RCF, he is dangerous AF.

Last winter's free agent starting pitcher signings, from best to worst. Taking into account overall performance, contract cost and health status. At the moment, it appears the Phillies did well and did not hit a landmine.

Obviously, this list will change a lot, but right now.

THE GOOD & THE OKAY
1. Nathan Eovaldi (Rangers, 2/34)
2. Chris Bassitt (Blue Jays, 3/63)
3. Taijuan Walker (Phillies, 4/72)
4. Kodai Senga (Mets, 5/75) biggest concern: walking 5.6 guys per 9 innings; also Mets using kid gloves with workload
5. Kyle Gibson (Orioles, 1/10)
6. Justin Verlander (Mets, 2/86) missed time; not pitching like an ace

DISASTERS OR INCOMPLETE GRADE
7. Jacob DeGrom (Rangers, 5/185) pitched well and helped set tone for first-place Texas, but now gone until late 2024
8. Jose Quintana (Mets, 2/26) might soon make first appearance
9. Carlos Rodon (Yankees, 6/162) might be on track to pitch in second half
10. Tyler Anderson (Angels, 3/39) full disclosure: I wanted him, but he's been a disaster
11. Noah Syndergaard (Dodgers, 1/13)
12. Jameson Taillon (Cubs, 4/68) 6.70 ERA! ... The Phillies were probably a coin flip between him and Walker!!
