contrary to others, i am fine with not giving that kind of money to Bryant.
It's not the best deal in the world but I don't see really any other moves out there that moves the needle a ton for them unless they want to give up some prospects which I'm also fine with.

Sure, in a vacuum that's a lofty contract.
What's I'm NOT fine with is if this team doesn't add another significant bat.
There are a dozen ways they can get aggressive and find/acquire one. No excuses not to land someone.

Kris Bryant to the Rockies.
Seven years, $182 million.
The legend of Boras continues.
Now we know why the Phils weren't interested.

Brewers gave Cutch 1/8.5
I wonder what Miller got. You could have done a lot worse for some DH platoon/bench options than those two for cheap-ish.

This is interesting.
[162-game averages since 2018:
Kyle Schwarber: .243/.349/.502 (.851 OPS), 37 HR, 87 RBI
Kris Bryant: .268/.364/.479 (.843 OPS), 28 HR, 81 RBI] - John Foley

Agreed - as of now the extra bat/DH will be from the pool of Stott, Carmago, Luke Williams, Haze, marginal back-up catcher

Freeman close to agreement with Dodgers.
Those Braves-Dodgers games this year are going to be LIT.
