Union executive board appears to be voting against approval. Uncertain how this could affect full player vote.

I'm OK with players trying to squeeze a little more out of owners in final 24 hours. Owners' offer was much better, but players can still get a little more.

I think the issue is that the owners keep trying to add new things

Heyman tweets that MLB’s proposal also requests that the MLBPA drop the $500MM grievance it filed against MLB, wherein the players posited that MLB did not negotiate in good faith during return-to-play talks in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

Owners are just a bunch of a-holes. If this continues, it is all on them

Union votes yes.
Baseball is back.
Looks like it was a close vote, and Scott Boras' endorsement might have put it over the top.

We'll know soon enough! We'll either be furious, ecstatic or more likely something in between within the next couple of days.

Players can report to spring-training camps as early as tomorrow. Opening Day is expected to be April 7, as
@JesseRogersESPN
first reported. Transactions unfreeze upon ratification, which is expected to come as early as today, meaning free agents can sign and trades can occur.

Some details of note to us:
-- First 5 picks in draft will be determined by lottery
-- 12 teams in the playoffs
-- Universal DH
-- shifts will be banned (have fun implementing that in 3 weeks)
-- higher competitive balance tax threshold

I still don't think I understand the whole international draft thing that seemingly came up at the last minute. Any word on what happened with that?

Thank God the shift is gone. It NEVER worked well for the Phillies...on offense or defense. The Phillies MUST get some significant players signed in the next couple of days. As of right now, on paper are the 3rd best team in the East, but make the right moves and they will be right there

International draft was dropped. Too divisive and complicated.

Still trying to figure how these 12-team playoffs work. We might have a fun new concept: A "ghost win"

-- 3 division winners, 2 of which get byes
-- "worst" division winner + three wild cards in the first round

The "worst" division winner is rewarded with an automatic 1-0 lead in a best-of-five series vs. the worst wild card.

So the worst wild card must win 3-of-4 to advance

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: all of the rules changes start in 2023, not this year.

So that's shift bans, pitch clock
