Seems like almost every run is a struggle tonight - but I'll take it
Now let's get a 2 homer and put this away

I think they're going to let Segura walk and go after one of the big-name shortstops, sliding Stott to 2B. If they land one, they could be primed for something special with the right pitching in place.

This is just pathetic - they should have 12 runs tonight

I would never let him walk for nothing.
They don't have the asset base to give a starter away. I think they become stronger as a contender trading him for an OF and a young, projectable arm. As was said, I'm also looking to capitalize on Hoskins come back year and move him, too.
I get you. I just don't see how you trade Nola and have a better rotation in 2023 -- not even if someone waves a magic wand over Eflin's knee.
I think they're going to give Marsh a year to see what they have, after giving up O'Hoppe. So 2/3 of the outfield next year is Harper & Marsh. Not really room for another guy if you're playing Schwarbs and Castellanos every day.
Suarez is ready to be a #2 starter.
Can't count on Eflin but he could be ok for 2023.
Sign or trade for a 3rd, depending.

This is going to be another ugly win or an ugly loss, but they are just making it way more difficult than it should be tonight

Eflin is going to be a free agent - I doubt that they try to resign him

Phillies definitely playing down to their opponents. With next two series vs. Bucs & Diamondbacks, want to seem them tighten up the ship and just play good baseball rather than get softer. This is where the rookie manager has to read the clubhouse and get them focused if they're too complacent against bad teams.
