The Phillies don't take advantage of the hittable pitches in their at bats, especially when they're ahead in the count.

The pitch to hit was the 1-0 slider on the outer 3rd. He should have stroked that to LF, instead he tries to get to 2-0 and being 1-1 allowed the ump to take over the at bat and put him in a 1-2 hole. Now he's a defensive hitter. Swing 1-0 and you can be the aggressor.
