News that affects the Phillies' offseason plans:
The Twins and outfielder Byron Buxton have agreed to a seven-year contract extension worth $100MM. The extension contains a full no-trade clause.

That's a great deal for the Twins.
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
Obviously there's not "nothing" left out there for them to do but they have quite a few glaring needs and options just keep dwindling and dwindling.

They won't pay the tax, so a few mediocre moves are coming

You might be 100% right, but the Phillies should know that plan will be followed by an early October call from Boras to the Phillies, requesting that Harper be traded.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 9:56 pm

Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
TOP CF targets left for Phillies
-- Cedric Mullins (Would cost 2 of their top 4 prospects0
-- Kevin Kiermaier (great glove, but he's a #9 hitter)
-- Kris Bryant. I starting to think they land him, because I think the Phillies will have money burning a hole in their pocket as more guys come off the board. Putting him in CF is not ideal, but it's way better than not adding big bats. (Note: I wrote this just before Semien landed 7/175)
-- Note 1: Seiya Suzuki has experience, but not a lot, in CF.
-- Note 2: I'm not putting Chris Taylor on this list, because I don't think he should be an everyday CF, but they might be forced to think outside the box at some point

At bare minimum, with no LF, CF or DH, the Phillies should get Cutch back on board right now, for whatever his market value is. Give him 2/32. I don't care.

Cries out 500 team sadly
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
I have no problem with the 25M per for Semien, but for 7 years....wow. This from the team that got how many years out of Prince Fielder.....I thought he might get 4/90-100M. Pure cash grab for Semien....the Rangers have nothing on that team...good RFer and now him.
I dont think the Phillies will be standing pat, no way after MVP and 2nd in CY on your team.
