My understanding of what’s next:
- Phillies can trade Song until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
- if he’s not traded, they can ask for waivers on Wednesday.
- If he clears waivers Friday, he would be offered back to Boston.

In good news, the Phillies can just DFA Covey when Alvarado is ready and won't have to worry about demoting or DFA'ing a far better arm (like Vazquez)

He was supposed to start throwing from the mound this weekend. So probably 2-3 weeks.
