Thomson said Vásquez was the guy who was sent out because he thinks Covey has pitched better. He said Covey is developing a change/split to help with LHH. Added that his fastball has some good sink on it, which induces GBs. Covey will see some high leverage spots moving forward.

Let's be very clear, though, Covey is on a very short leash.
He's beyond expendable if they need a spot for Alvarado's return
