Nola will never change.

He has way too many of these innings were he just implodes, as he loses complete command of his pitches

I've talked about this from the day he was drafted. It's his arm slot and pitch mechanics. With his arm away from his body, he can't be consistent with his elbow so he has issues staying on top of the ball.

When his elbow drops, he pushes the ball to the plate, hitters see the ball easier because the pitch flattens out. The ball winds up on a tee. That's also why he gives up so many rogue HRs, even in good outings.

When he stays on top of the ball, elbow up, he creates great downward action on all his pitches. He can look like a true ace but a lack of concentration or fatigue and that elbow drops? Ewww. He can look like a journeyman 5th starter.

Need to replace these idiots behind the plate. That pitch to Marsh was never a strike.

Fucking horrible high inside strike call by the ump saves the Dodgers from a bases loaded situation causing a pitching change. You can't have that bad a strike call in any part of a game , let alone a high leverage situation like that in a one run game...
