If the Phillies lose out on Castellanos, they should not just give up. Turn to Trevor Story. It can't just be a commitment for one guy. Castellanos not the only difference-maker still out there.

do the Phillies know the National League only added one DH

Again, I disagree with this strongly. I don't think people look closely enough at the Phillies roster depth and realize how close they are to trotting Johan Carmago and Luke Williams out there every day. They need another bat. If Schwarber is the LF, who is the DH? If Schwarber is the DH, who is in LF? You can only have one subpar LF on the field at a time.

If Harper is sore and needs to DH for a day or two, you can put Castellanos in RF instead of starting 2 guys from the list of Herrera/Vierling/Williams

Don't forget, Castellanos came up as a 3B. He wasn't great there, but neither is Bohm. I think they will give Bohm every chance, but something to think about.

#Phillies have also talked to Tampa Bay about LF Austin Meadows, according to a major-league source. Unclear where things stand there

glad they are considering going over the cap this year but irked they didn't do it last year when you had VV, Moore and Anderson being counted on a starters.

Meadows is a poor OBP and he bats lefty, so I don't see a great fit -- Unless this is something were Tampa likes Didi and would take on some of his money
