That is not bad either, here is the problem, Giardi is still the manager, but with the DH, he should be better. Very exciting, either way. But seriously, the Phillies need a starter...Tyler Anderson would have been nice

I'm not sure if that's the "best" move to pay the tax for but I love Nicky C and a mash line up and they're paying the tax so who gives a shit. Love Nicky C and the Schwarb.

Pretty sure I've been asking for them to acquire Nicky C almost every year dating back to when he was in Hamels trade rumors.

So in my mind, the Phils really should go for it for the next 2 years...I am OK with whatever in CF as long as we get good defense and they can hit decent out of the #9 hole. They really need a surprise or 2 out of the minor leagues, especially a starter that pulls a Ranger Suarez.

Still need a back end starter, but this offense can and will officially mash. Wanted Nicky from the Tigers days, and think he fits great in this park

To be honest I wanted Nicky C because I have visions of him standing over Travis D’arnaud after hitting a tater and sparking a huge brawl.

But in a vacuum, this is, finally, an applause-worthy moment by ownership. This lineup is now stacked. And they didn't go the Dombrowski Way of trading their remaining five prospects to do it. It's just money.

This should be a fun team to watch. Expectations will be very high that they're right there for second place in the division and make the playoffs.
